Excellent Local Spot for a Special Lunch! I took my managing broker here for a special farewell lunch, and it was the perfect spot to splurge! The atmosphere is beautiful, and the white-glove service was absolutely excellent. I started with their "La Vie en Rose" signature cocktail, which was fantastic and came with little lavender pods floating on top, while my friend enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay. For lunch, they brought out this cool, crisp cracker-like bread that was a neat touch. I ordered the spicy beef salad and ate every single biteβ€”yummo! My friend loved her shaking beef, though we both thought they could probably cut back just a bit on the number of pea pods in the dish. We finished the meal with the crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e garnished with fresh berries, mini soft almond cookies and it was top-notch with a perfect, crispy crack crust. Since it’s right next door to my office, I’d love to make this a regular habit, but the prices definitely make it a special-occasion treat. I'll absolutely be backβ€”though I might have to convince someone else to treat me next time! Highly recommend for a lovely, upscale dining experience right in town.

This review is heartbreaking for me to write. My family and I have been dining at the Lake Forest location since the opening 4 years ago. The service, consistency, and quality has deteriorated tremendously since my most recent visit. My spouses strawberry gin tasted different each time it was received. Less wonton chips on the tartar and then charged for ordering more. I ordered a dirty martini and was served with one blue cheese olive instead of the typical 3. When received food, no instructions on how to eat serve/eat their version of the duck. No one served us our fried rice, shaking beef, which they have ALWAYS done in the past. Chocolate cake was disgustingly dry. I asked for the recommend dessert red/port and was served a white. Dirty dishes on the table the entire night. I asked for a manger and spoke to George. George seemed very apologetic. However, no action to show his β€œremorse”. I wouldn’t be SO disappointed if I didn’t watch every single table around me get impeccable service that I am so used to. Although our bill was on $400 before tip for 2 people, I wouldn’t still expect the same service as my parents spend on their $2,000 meals.

Originally had reservations for two inside but chose to sit at the outside bar instead. The scenery is quaint and beautiful. The entire staff was very welcoming and attentive. The food was fresh and flavorful. Our bartender Luis was amazing. Would highly recommend stopping in for a quick bite or nice dinner.

The desserts turned out to be my favorite plates (flambΓ© chocolate cake!) but the entire night was perfect for our team dinner. The service was exceptional, from making recommendations for specific plates and drinks, to offering to plate the appetizer, and taking our team photo. The space itself is beautiful, with careful attention to every detail. Thank you le colonial for a wonderful night.

Even though the place was packed, the staff quickly found space for us on the patio and served drinks and appetizers while we waited for our dinner table. The patio runs its own tab, so we carried our drinks over once our table was ready. The bar itself is pretty small, with a few seats taken by guests waiting for takeout orders. Once seated, our servers were outstandingβ€”attentive, friendly, and happy to chat about the menu. Their recommendations were spot-on, and every dish we tried was fantastic. The whole red snapper, in particular, was absolutely incredible. They even packed our leftovers with extra care so everything stayed fresh. Overall, a truly memorable dining experience! They just need to add a few more vegetarian options, and I’m sure I will be back soon.
